Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission website reported on August 25 that recently, the Development and Reform Commission and the Energy Bureau of the Autonomous Region issued a list of the fifth batch of new energy near-consumption projects, focusing on three high-energy and export-oriented industrial scenarios, namely, coking coal chemical industry, electrolytic aluminium and textile manufacturing, to promote the application of green power direct connection mode in traditional superior industries. Help key industries to save energy and reduce carbon.
The fifth batch of three projects, with a total installed capacity of 1.59 million kilowatts of new energy (890000 kilowatts of wind power and 700000 kilowatts of photovoltaic power ) , are located in Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone of Changji Prefecture and Habahe County of Altay Prefecture. After the completion of the project, the annual consumption of green electricity is about 2.98 billion kilowatt-hours, which is equivalent to saving about 900000 tons of standard coal and reducing about 2.41 million tons of carbon dioxide annually, with outstanding economic and ecological benefits.
Next, the Development and Reform Commission and the Energy Bureau of the Autonomous Region will strengthen overall coordination, guide and urge relevant prefectures and enterprises to speed up project approval, construction and network connection services, ensure the synchronous construction and operation of new energy, load, energy storage and power grid projects, and promote the construction and operation of new energy, load, energy storage and power grid projects. We will continue to improve the policy system for the absorption of new energy nearby, promote the transformation of the advantages of clean energy resources into the advantages of industrial competition and opening to the outside world, and contribute Xinjiang's strength to serving the country's "double carbon" strategy.
