On July 3, the official micro-blog of "Kunshan Xiexin Optoelectronics" announced that. Xiexin Optoelectronics and Phenomenon Innovation (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd. have recently formally signed a framework agreement for joint research and development of space photovoltaics . The two sides will cooperate on the research and development of space-grade perovskite photovoltaic modules , sample preparation, space environment verification and market promotion . Promote the application of perovskite photovoltaic technology in commercial space scenarios such as LEO satellites and space stations.
This cooperation will combine the advantages of Xiexin Photovoltaic in perovskite photovoltaic research and development, GW scale manufacturing and component technology, as well as the technical accumulation of phenomenon innovation in PULSE closed-loop material research and development platform. Space-grade perovskite photovoltaic products with lightweight, high adaptability and high reliability.
According to the agreement, the two sides will set up a joint R & D team to focus on the key performance of perovskite components in space environment, such as radiation resistance, temperature change resistance, thermal vacuum cycle and so on. GCL Optoelectronics will complete the sample trial production of thin film deposition, laser scribing, electrode preparation and integrated packaging based on its own production line; Phenomenon Innovation will rely on its PULSE closed-loop AI material research and development platform to carry out UTG substrate modification, packaging optimization and surface modification research and development.

At present, related products have completed several rounds of performance tests against GJB, QJ, GB/T and other aerospace standards . In the future, the two sides will continue to promote space environment simulation testing, product qualification certification and on-orbit verification, and accelerate the commercial application process of space-grade perovskite photovoltaic products.
Xiexin Optoelectronics said that the cooperation will further open up the collaborative link of " material design-process preparation-performance verification-scenario application ", and provide new space energy solutions with more engineering potential for commercial aerospace. According to

public information, Phenomenon Innovation (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd. was established in August 2022 and headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Its self- developed PULSE closed-loop material research and development platform has the ability of intelligent material design, high-throughput screening and engineering verification, and is committed to providing highly adaptive and reliable material and system solutions for space photovoltaic products.
It is worth mentioning that in May this year, Phenomenon Innovation also released PhenoEx ™ dedicated integrated solution for space photovoltaic. At present, Phenomenon Innovation is carrying out in-depth cooperation with a number of aerospace institutes and commercial satellite customers. Its PhenoExo ™ UTG flexible substrate solution has passed several rounds of rigorous testing and verification, and its technical indicators fully meet the requirements of aerospace applications, and orders have been placed. According
to Phenomenon Innovation, the flexible perovskite photovoltaic solar wing module based on PhenoEx ™ UTG substrate has completed the ground reliability test and the whole satellite adaptation process, and will enter space with the customer satellite platform in the second half of the year to carry out on-orbit verification .
It is noteworthy that, in addition to phenomenon innovation, on June 3, Xiexin Optoelectronics also held a strategic signing ceremony for space photovoltaic on-orbit testing with Ziwei Technologies .
According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation around the on-orbit performance test of perovskite cells, promote launch, on-orbit verification, data acquisition and data download, and jointly explore the application potential of the next generation photovoltaic technology in the real space environment.
