State Energy Group's Longyuan Electric Power official disclosed on September 24 that recently, Longyuan Electric Power Gansu Badain Jilin Desert Base 11 million kilowatt new energy project was formally approved by the group company, laying the foundation for the project to develop in accordance with the law. Located in Jinta County, Jiuquan City and Gaotai County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province,
the project is a key project of the national "Shagehuang" large-scale wind power photovoltaic base and an important supporting power supply project of the "Longdian into Sichuan" ± 800 kV UHVDC project. The total installed capacity of
the project is 11 million kilowatts , including 4.3 million kilowatts of wind power and 6.7 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power . According to public data, the base project is also equipped with 4 million kilowatts of peak-shaving thermal power, 1.4 million kilowatts/5.6 million kilowatt-hours of energy storage , plus 200000 kilowatts of photothermal power, to achieve cross-provincial power consumption through UHV transmission channels.
Previously, on June 27, 2026, Longyuan Electric Power announced that it would acquire 49% of Guoneng Badain Jilin (Gansu) Energy Development Investment Co., Ltd. held by the State Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd. at a price of 24.6317 million yuan. Before the acquisition, Longyuan Electric Power had held 51% of Badain Jilin Company and 49% of the State Energy Group. After the completion of the
transaction, Badain Jilin Company formally became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Longyuan Electric Power, and the core asset of Badain Jilin Company, namely the development right of Badain Jilin Desert Base in Gansu Province, is the benchmark project of the national "Sha Ge Huang" large-scale wind power photovoltaic base, as well as the supporting power supply of the "Longdian into Sichuan" UHVDC project.
