On September 17, the Silicon Branch announced the latest polysilicon transaction price, and the prices of all types of N-type polysilicon rose sharply, of which N-type re-feeding rose by 8.57% . The average transaction price was 53,200 yuan/ton ; N-type dense materials rose by 8.75%, with an average price of 49,700 yuan/ton ; N-type granular silicon rose by 3.13% annually, with an average transaction price of 49500 yuan/ton .
The Silicon Branch said that the main reason for the continued upward trend in the transaction price was that some first-line enterprises had reached the upper limit of the stage in terms of external sales, with less margin to sign in the short term, and second-line enterprises began to sign contracts one after another. At the same time, due to the recent impact of relevant national industrial policies, the industry generally holds optimistic expectations for the future market, and the market sentiment forms a support for the price of silicon materials.
In addition, on September 16, the National Standardization Management Committee issued three mandatory national standards (draft for comments), including the Energy Consumption Quota for Silicon Polycrystalline and Germanium Unit Products. After the formal implementation of the standard, enterprises whose energy consumption per unit product of polysilicon does not meet the requirements of the benchmark value (6.4kgce/kg) will be rectified within a time limit, and enterprises that fail to rectify within the time limit or fail to meet the access value (5.5kgce/kg) after rectification will be shut down. According to preliminary statistics, after the orderly adjustment of the existing capacity structure, the effective capacity of polysilicon in China will be reduced to about 2.4 million tons per year , down 16.4% from the end of 2024. Compared with the capacity of the completed plant, it has been reduced by 31.4% . Therefore, with the strict implementation of the new energy consumption standard, the supply and demand pattern of polysilicon will be substantially improved .
