Recently, the Office of River and Lake Chief System in Guizhou Province issued a plan to carry out supervision of river and lake chief system and joint law enforcement supervision of rivers and lakes in 2023 from September to October, including cracking down on illegal sand and gravel mining in the Yangtze River Basin according to law.
The supervision covers nine cities (prefectures) in Guizhou Province and not less than one third of the counties (cities and districts) under their jurisdiction, including the comprehensive promotion of the "three systems" of administrative law enforcement, the development of special law enforcement actions for river and lake safety protection, and the crackdown on illegal sand mining in the Yangtze River Basin of Guizhou Province. Guizhou Province requires that, in accordance with the law, we severely crack down on the illegal and criminal activities of illegally mining sand and gravel in the Yangtze River Basin or digging and mining in excess of the scope, time limit and quantity; that we severely crack down on the illegal and criminal activities of illegally mining and selling sand and gravel in the Yangtze River Basin under the cover of dredging operations and government projects; and that we rectify the mining areas with loose sand management, sand and gravel trading sites and key areas with high incidence of illegal sand mining in accordance with the law.
