Henan Gongyi Housi River Pumped Storage Power Station Upper Reservoir Civil Engineering and Metal Structure Installation
Project Overview: Henan Gongyi Housi River Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Gongyi City under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, and the station is about 50 km away from Zhengzhou City in a straight line. It is about 7 km away from Gongyi City in a straight line. The lower reservoir dam site is about 10km, 61km and 72km away from Gongyi City, Luoyang City and Zhengzhou City respectively, with superior regional location and convenient traffic conditions. The power station is a pure pumped storage power station with daily regulation. It is equipped with four hydro-generating units with a single unit capacity of 300 MW. The installed capacity of the power station is 1200 MW. The project is a first-class large (1) type project. After completion, it will undertake the tasks of peak regulation, valley filling, energy storage, frequency modulation, phase modulation and emergency reserve of Henan power grid. The main structures of the
hydropower station project are composed of the upper reservoir, the lower reservoir, the water conveyance system, the underground powerhouse and the switch station.
The upper reservoir (dam) is located near Huangjiashan, Qinglonggou, on the left bank of the upper reaches of the Housi River, a tributary of the Yiluo River. The main dam of the upper reservoir is a concrete face rockfill dam, with a crest elevation of 860.00 m, a maximum dam height of 142 m (dam axis), a crest length of 460 m, a crest width of 10 m, and a slope ratio of 1: 1.4 between the upstream and downstream dam slopes. The anti-seepage type of the upper reservoir adopts the reinforced concrete face slab at the reservoir bank and the whole reservoir basin with the geomembrane at the reservoir bottom. The lower reservoir (dam) is located near Fowan of the Housi River. The dam of the lower reservoir is a concrete face rockfill dam with a crest elevation of 397.00 m, a maximum dam height of 78.5 m (toe slab) and a crest length of 280 m. The slope ratio of the dam upstream and downstream is 1: 1.4. The water conveyance system is arranged in Huangjiashan Mountain with two tunnels and four units, and four single-stage Francis pump-turbines with rated capacity of 300 MW are installed. Reinforcement fabrication and installation is about 28,100 tons, penstock installation is about 16,600 tons, anchor rod is about 251,700 pieces, consolidation grouting is about 238,700 m, backfill grouting is about 61,100 m ², curtain grouting is about 13,600 m ², and contact grouting is about 9,800 m ².
