Anhui Ningguo Longtan Pumped Storage Power Station Water Conveyance and Power Generation System Project
Overview: Ningguo Longtan Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Xiaxi Town, Ningguo City, Anhui Province. The upper reservoir is located near Tali Village, Xiaxi Town and the source of Honglong River, and the lower reservoir is located near Shihe Village, Xiaxi Town. It is about 20 km away from Ningguo City, 60 km away from Xuancheng City and 210 km away from Hefei City. After the completion of the power station, it will undertake the tasks of peak regulation, valley filling, energy storage, frequency modulation, phase modulation and reserve of Jiangsu power grid.
The upper reservoir is located in the mountainous area of the upstream source of Honglong River in Shihe Village, Xiaxi Town. The natural reservoir basin looks like a maple leaf on the plane. The leaf is composed of three large ditches and their branches. The dam site is located at the petiole. The main buildings include the upper reservoir dam, the road around the reservoir, the inlet/outlet of the upper reservoir, etc. The dam of the upper reservoir is a concrete face rockfill dam, with a crest elevation of 789.00 m, a wave wall crest elevation of 790.20 m, a maximum dam height of 76.0 m (at the toe slab), a crest length of 417.00 m, and a crest width of 10.0 m.
The lower reservoir is located near Shihe Village, Xiaxi Town, Ningguo City. It is dammed at about 200 m upstream of Shihe Village, Longtan River. The main structures include the lower reservoir dam, shaft spillway, discharge tunnel, inlet/outlet of the lower reservoir, etc. The dam of the lower reservoir is a concrete face rockfill dam, with a crest elevation of 266.00 m and a crest width of 10.00 m. An L-shaped wave wall is set at the upstream of the dam crest, with a crest elevation of 267.20 m, a maximum dam height of 100.00 m (at the dam axis), a crest length of 376.0 m, an upstream dam slope of 1: 1.404, and a downstream dam slope ratio of 1: 1.4. Pressure slope is set behind the dam, and the downstream slope ratio of pressure slope is 1:2. The downstream dam slope is protected by planting grass on concrete frame beams.
The water conveyance system mainly includes upper reservoir inlet/outlet, upper diversion adit, upper diversion inclined shaft, middle diversion adit, middle diversion inclined shaft, lower diversion adit, diversion steel bifurcation, diversion steel branch pipe, tailrace branch pipe, tailrace bifurcation, tailrace tunnel, tailrace surge chamber, lower reservoir inlet/outlet, etc. The total length of the water conveyance system between the inlet/outlet of the upper and lower reservoirs is about 3763.3m (along the length of the water conveyance system of 1 # unit, the same below), of which the length of the water diversion system is about 1198.6m, and the length of the tailrace system is about 2564.7m. The three main caverns of
the underground powerhouse system are arranged in parallel. The excavation size of the main and auxiliary powerhouse caverns is 179.0m × 24.5m × 56.7 m (length × width × height, the same below), the excavation size of the main transformer cavern is 183.5m × 20.0m × 22.8 m, and the excavation size of the tail gate cavern is 140.9 m × 7.8 m × 21.3 m.

Planned construction period: The project is planned to be commenced on May 1, 2026 and completed on December 31, 2030, with a total construction period of 56 months. The specific commencement date shall be subject to the commencement date officially issued by the Supervisor. Main work contents of
the Project (including but not limited to): water and soil conservation and environmental protection works, headrace tunnel and high pressure pipeline works, tailrace tunnel works, tailrace surge chamber and tailrace regulating ventilation tunnel works, tailrace gate tunnel works, main and auxiliary powerhouse tunnel works, main transformer tunnel works, 500 kV outgoing line tunnel works, underground powerhouse drainage gallery works, Exhaust shaft works, embedded parts and buried pipe works, metal structure fabrication and installation works, permanent safety monitoring civil works, construction adit works, penstock works and other construction projects.
