BYD won Chile's 2.6G Wh overseas energy storage order, supporting the Central Oasis Optical Storage Project, demonstrating its competitiveness in the global energy storage market and the strength of clean energy solutions.

Recently, BYD Energy Storage and Grenergy, Spain's leading clean energy company, have reached a new strategic cooperation. It will provide 468 sets of MC Cube-T energy storage systems with a total capacity of 2.6 G Wh for the Oasis Optical Storage Project in Central Chile. It is applied to four photovoltaic storage power stations in Gran Teno, Tamango, Planch Planchón and Monte Águila.

This is also another benchmark new energy project jointly built by the two sides after the cooperation of 3.5G Wh Latin America's largest energy storage project in May 2025. At present, 168 energy storage cabinets supplied by BYD Energy Storage for Gran Teno Optical Storage Power Station have been shipped in Shenzhen and are expected to arrive at the project site in mid-April. The remaining equipment is being shipped in an orderly manner as planned. The power station is expected to be put into operation in the second quarter of this year. Chile has a total PV installed capacity of 1.1GW and an energy storage scale of 4GWh, with an estimated total investment of US $900 million. It is planned to be put into full operation from 2026 to 2027, aiming to replicate the mature integrated photovoltaic storage mode of Atacama Oasis Project and provide stable and clean power supply for central Chile.

As of 2025, BYD's cumulative shipments of energy storage systems exceeded 135 GWh, successfully landed more than 650 energy storage projects, and its business covered more than 110 countries and regions around the world.
