On June 30, foreign media reported that the US government was drafting an import ban on new Chinese inverters by the Federal Communications Commission, driven by the European Union's recent ban on Chinese-made inverters in publicly funded energy projects. It is said that the ban will be announced as soon as this year, but it is still in the draft stage. In response, the Chinese Embassy in Washington said that it was "firmly opposed to the over-interpretation of the concept of national security and its groundless suppression of Chinese enterprises", adding that the ban was still in the draft stage. The United States should provide a "fair, just and non-discriminatory environment" for Chinese enterprises.
