Recently, Huasheng New Energy signed a cooperation agreement with New Time, an Italian enterprise, to build a production line of heterojunction-perovskite laminated components with an annual output of 1G W in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, in the third quarter of 2026.
If the project is completed as planned, it will become one of the largest building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) special solar manufacturing bases in Italy. New Time is
understood to be in talks to buy two factories in Emilia-Romagna.
Earlier, in May, the relevant authorities of Emilia-Romagna approved an investment plan of 25.5 million euros submitted by New Time, including 6.4 million euros of public funds. Under the investment plan, 8.3 million euros will be used to finance the glass processing business of Budrio, 15.7 million euros will be used to support the assembly of new products in San Lazaro di Savena (San Lazzaro di Savena) and the construction of an R & D center. A further €1 million has been earmarked for the refurbishment of New Time's headquarters in Forl Forlì. Paolo Cimatti, founder of
New Time, said that from 2022 to 2026, the company's cumulative investment will reach about 50 million euros. It includes an initial investment of 18.5 million euros for the Budrio plant, an investment project of 25.5 million US dollars submitted to Invitalia (Italian Foreign Investment and Enterprise Development Agency), and a plan to build a new perovskite component plant in cooperation with Huasheng.
