The storage capacity of the landfill is gradually full and the service life is gradually expired. Because the landfill covers a large area, it is very easy to cause secondary pollution to soil, groundwater and air. In this regard, Xigaze City authorized Huaxin Xigaze Company to construct and operate the project of co-disposal of domestic waste in cement kilns by franchising mode, which fundamentally improved the original backward landfill disposal mode that endangered the environment.
The project is also the first cement kiln co-disposal project in Xigaze, with a total investment of about 115 million yuan, covering an area of about 50 mu, and a design disposal scale of 400 tons per day. It can solve the problems of repeated investment and primary garbage landfill after the landfill sites in the central urban area and eight surrounding counties are full, and turn the domestic garbage and the original stale garbage into combustibles after pretreatment to replace coal, so as to truly realize the harmless, reduction and resource disposal of the domestic garbage in Shigatse and improve the living environment of residents. The technology of "complete technology and application of cement kiln high-efficiency ecological co-disposal of solid waste" applied in this
project is a super-large-scale solid waste ecological pretreatment technology initiated by Huaxin, which is in the leading international level and has won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. The technology realizes the efficient preparation of refuse derived fuel (RDF) on a large scale, and forms the application scenarios of co-disposal of domestic waste, industrial hazardous waste, contaminated soil, municipal sludge, floating debris and other solid wastes in cement kilns, which is an important innovative development direction of environmental protection transformation and solid waste disposal in the world cement industry. In May
2022, Huaxin invested in the construction of Xizang's first cement kiln co-processing domestic waste environmental protection plant in Shannan City, Xizang, and has disposed of nearly 200,000 tons of domestic waste, which has been recognized and praised by all walks of life in the local area. At present, Huaxin has built and operated nearly 40 eco-environmental protection disposal plants at home and abroad, dealing with nearly 25 million tons of domestic waste and other national waste, making a strong contribution to local construction of ecological civilization.
