Statistical Analysis on the Development of Construction Industry in the First Half of 2024

In the first half of the year, the construction industry realized an added value of 3777.1 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8% over the same period last year, and the growth rate was 0.2 percentage points lower than that of GDP. The added value of the construction industry accounted for 6.12% of the GDP.

1. The basic situation

of the national construction industry in the first half of 2024 (1) The added value of

the construction industry, according to preliminary accounting, China's GDP in the first half of 2024 was 61683.6 billion yuan. In the first half of the year, the added value of the construction industry was 3777.1 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8% over the same period last year. The added value of the construction industry accounted for 6% of the GDP.

(2) Investment in construction and installation projects and the total output value

of the construction industry In the first half of 2024, the national investment in fixed assets (excluding farmers) was 245.39 billion yuan. In the first half of 2024, the investment in construction and installation projects increased by 3.8% year-on-year, which was lower

than that of the national fixed assets investment (excluding farmers). The total output value of the construction industry in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong all exceeded 1 trillion yuan, reaching 156 million yuan in 16947, 106 million yuan in 11639 and 110 million yuan in 11439, accounting for 12.3%, 8.4% and 8% of the total output value of the construction industry in China, respectively. Hubei, Shandong, Sichuan, Fujian, Beijing, Hunan, Anhui and Henan are also 11 regions with a total output value of more than 500 billion yuan. The total output value of the construction industry completed by the above 11 provinces and cities accounts for 70% of the total output value of the national construction industry. From the growth of the total output value of the construction industry in each region, the total output value of the construction industry in 25 regions has increased by different margins compared with the same period last year. Among them, Tibet has the largest growth rate, reaching 19.7%, followed by Inner Mongolia, with an increase rate of 10. The total output value of construction industry in Ningxia, Qinghai, Shanxi, Heilongjiang, Shaanxi and Beijing showed negative growth compared with the same period last year (Figure 1).

of the construction industry completed in other provinces in the first half of 2024. Jiangsu and Beijing still rank the top two in the total output value of construction industry in other provinces, with 726.749 billion yuan and 4816 yuan respectively. The total output value of the two provinces in other provinces accounts for 25% of the total output value in other provinces. Hubei, Fujian, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Shanghai, Hunan, Shandong, Tianjin, Shaanxi, Henan, Sichuan and other 11 regions. The total output value of the construction industry completed in other provinces has exceeded 150 billion yuan. The fastest year-on-year growth in the total output value of the construction industry completed in other provinces was in Yunnan, reaching 24. Chongqing, Zhejiang and Inner Mongolia also increased by more than 15%. The total output value of the construction industry completed by 13 regions in other provinces showed negative growth, of which the negative growth in Xinjiang, Ningxia and Tibet exceeded or approached 20%. In terms of export-oriented degree (that is, the proportion of the output value completed in other provinces to the total output value of the construction industry in the region), the top three regions are still Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai. 71.99%, 70.37% and 53% respectively. of new contracts signed in the first half of 2024. The total amount of contracts signed by construction enterprises in Guangdong, Hubei, Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan and Shanghai has exceeded 300 billion yuan. (5) Housing construction area and completed area

In the first half of 2024, the construction area of construction enterprises in Jiangsu and Zhejiang exceeded 1 billion square meters. Guangdong, Beijing, Shandong, Fujian, Hubei and other five regions have reached 1.936 billion square meters and 12. Housing construction area has exceeded 500 million square meters. The growth rate of housing construction area in Anhui and Guangdong ranked the top two, with negative growth in housing construction area in 12.5% and 10.27 regions, respectively. Among them, the negative growth of Qinghai, Jilin and Heilongjiang reached 46.3%, 39.6% and 33% respectively.

Jiangsu and Zhejiang construction enterprises have completed more than 100 million square meters of housing construction area, 263 million square meters, 1. Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Fujian, Sichuan, Shandong, Jiangxi and other seven regions have completed more than 50 million square meters of housing construction area. The completed area of housing construction in Heilongjiang and Beijing increased by more than 20%, 29.5% and 21% respectively. Ningxia and Shanghai also increased by more than 10%. The completed area of housing construction in 25 regions showed negative growth, of which Xinjiang, Liaoning and Jilin all showed negative growth of more than 30% (Figure 9).
