On June 25, China's first high-pressure pure hydrogen pipeline test was successful.
At the pipeline fracture control test site of Hami National Pipeline Network Group, the staff completed the 6.3 MPa pipeline hydrogen filling test and 9.45 MPa pipeline explosion test, and all the results met expectations. This test is the first high pressure on-line test of hydrogen transmission non-metallic pipeline in China, and also the first high pressure pure hydrogen explosion test of non-metallic pipeline in China. Hydrogen energy
has significant advantages such as zero carbon, high efficiency, storability, safety and controllability. According to the Medium and Long-term Plan for the Development of Hydrogen Energy Industry (2021-2035), hydrogen energy is an important part of the national energy system and an important carrier for energy terminals to achieve green and low carbon. At present, many provinces and municipalities have formulated and issued hydrogen energy development policies.
At present, the core problem that hinders the development of hydrogen energy industrialization is the cost, including the cost of hydrogen production, hydrogen storage and transportation, and hydrogen filling.
In the process of storage and transportation, long-distance transportation is the key problem of hydrogen energy industry at present. Relevant reports pointed out that with the success of the first high-pressure pure hydrogen pipeline test in China, it will provide technical support for large-scale, low-cost long-distance pure hydrogen transportation in China in the future. The cost of the
production link is also declining further. According to the latest research report of CITIC Construction Investment, since 2023, due to a series of factors such as changes in procurement scope and optimization of integrated schemes, the price of hydrogen production equipment has been reduced, and is now stable in a reasonable price range of 700-800 W/set.
Specifically, in terms of procurement scope, hydrogen production equipment was purchased by stripping electrical equipment; in terms of integration scheme, the scale of hydrogen production promoted the optimization of system integration scheme from one-driving-one to multi-driving-one, and the sharing of post-processing equipment brought about cost sharing. The agency further pointed out that the scale of hydrogen production is expected to further enhance the level of integration, and the procurement cost will continue to decline benignly. Bidding for hydrogen energy projects in the upstream of the
industrial chain has also been more active recently. On June 21, the tender announcement for EPC general contracting of Gansu 4GW photovoltaic off-grid hydrogen production project was issued, with a project capital of 35 billion yuan, supporting the construction of 800MW/1600MWH energy storage equipment, and purchasing 8638 sets of hydrogen production equipment. At the same time, the second batch of green hydrogen projects in Inner Mongolia started construction, and Sinopec is also continuing to promote the landing of wind and solar hydrogen storage projects. The above-mentioned agencies pointed out that the bidding scale exceeded expectations, and the hydrogen energy sector entered a clear investment window period.
Huaan Securities believes that the hydrogen energy market is growing, and the storage and transportation market is expected to take the lead in benefiting. Liquid hydrogen storage has high transportation capacity and high safety, and when the transportation distance is more than 370 km, the economy of cryogenic liquid hydrogen storage and transportation is higher.
Non-destructive storage and transportation is the future development direction of liquid hydrogen storage, and liquid hydrogen storage tank is an important carrier to improve liquid hydrogen storage and transportation technology. Due to the high requirements for sealing and materials at low temperature, the value of vacuum pumps and liquid hydrogen valves accounts for a large proportion, and the cost of valves, fittings, pipes, shells and pumps accounts for more than 52% of the total cost of liquid hydrogen storage tanks.
