It is understood that the sand and gravel dredger "Yuhe Chuan Mining 1999", with a length of 30.8 meters, a width of 7.8 meters and a depth of 2.0 meters, needs to go up through the Weituo Lock on the Fujiang River on the afternoon of October 8 and apply to the lock operation unit for the lock. According to the operation scheme of navigation structures of Weituo Navigation and Power Junction on Fujiang River, Weituo Lock is a single-line Class VI lock, with an effective dimension of 100m × 12m × 2m (length × width × threshold water depth) and a gate width of 8m. Ships with a width of 7.4m-7.8m shall be released under the on-site supervision of the maritime department, and those with a width of more than 7.8m shall be prohibited from passing.
"Yuhe Chuan Cai 1999" is 7.8 meters wide, which is only 0.2 meters wide from the gate of the lock. A slight carelessness may cause a collision with the lock and cause losses. The ship lock operation unit reported the situation to the three brigades of the port and maritime detachment. After receiving the report, the three brigades of the port and maritime detachment immediately joined the traffic law enforcement detachment of Hechuan District to send law enforcement officers to the scene.
Law enforcement officers inspect and verify the ship's dimensions on the spot, understand the water level of the lock approach channel and the lock chamber and the preparation for operation and dispatch, organize the lock operation units and the ship side to study the ship's lockage plan on the spot, and adopt additional personnel on-site command, crew protection, real-time control of the lock water level by the operation units, and cautious driving of the ship. After nearly two hours of joint efforts, the Chongqing-Hechuan Mining 1999 ship passed through the Weituo Lock on the Fujiang River safely and smoothly, and the ship owner expressed his gratitude to the law enforcement officers.
