On February 12, the reporter learned that the G107 Wuhan Dongxihu Section Rapid Renovation and Upgrading Project (the second tender section), the first prefabricated pier of the assembled bridge in Hubei Province, was successfully hoisted, and the construction of the main viaduct project entered a new stage.
According to reports, the 107 National Highway Reconstruction Project is the first construction site in Hubei Province to adopt fully assembled bridge construction technology. Through the construction of fully assembled intelligent prefabricated component yard, factory prefabrication, on-site assembly and other procedures, the project completed the construction of part of the bridge substructure, including 52 prefabricated piers and 28 capping beams.

"Using the conventional pier column cast-in-place method, the temporary occupied area is 16 meters, which takes 6 months. Using the prefabricated bridge construction, the temporary occupied area is only 14 meters, which takes only 3 months." Li Jun, the production manager of the second bid of G107 project of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau, introduced that compared with the traditional cast-in-place pier technology, building bridges like building blocks not only greatly speeds up the construction progress, but also has the advantages of less environmental pollution and less labor force, so as to ensure the smooth traffic around.
In order to ensure the safety and precise assembly of prefabricated piers, the project adopts new equipment such as positioning base, turning bracket and fine adjustment counterforce seat. In the aspect of prefabrication, the matching positioning base is adopted, so that the embedded parts of the bearing platform and the prefabricated pier column sleeves correspond to each other one by one, and the manufacturing error is reduced. In the aspect of transportation, the turning bracket is used to cooperate with the crane to complete two times of turning smoothly, so as to reduce the transportation error. In terms of installation, the verticality of the pier column is adjusted by fine adjustment of the counterforce seat and the Jack, and the millimeter-level accuracy is achieved. The successful hoisting of the
first prefabricated pier column of the assembled bridge has accelerated the opening of the main line bridge at the end of 2023 for the reconstruction and construction of National Highway 107. The application of new technology not only strengthens the quality and safety control of the project, but also greatly saves the construction period of the bridge substructure and effectively reduces the impact on social traffic, which marks that Hubei Province has entered a new stage of development of bridge assembly construction.
