Suzhou organizes centralized river patrol and law enforcement actions for sand mining management in key periods of the Yangtze River (Suzhou section)

In order to firmly promote the "double-push" action of sand mining management in the Yangtze River (Suzhou Section) and strengthen the management of sand mining during festivals such as "National Day", on September 27, the Suzhou Water Bureau organized a centralized river patrol law enforcement action for sand mining management in the Yangtze River (Suzhou Section). The water departments of Suzhou and the three cities along the Yangtze River, as well as the public security and maritime departments of Changhang, participated in the joint law enforcement inspection. The operation dispatched 32 law enforcement officers and 3 law enforcement boats, focusing on joint law enforcement patrols in border waters and sensitive waters, effectively deterring illegal sand mining and actively maintaining the water order of the Yangtze River (Suzhou section).

In recent years, the water department of Suzhou has thoroughly implemented the national strategy of "Great Protection of the Yangtze River", conscientiously implemented the decision-making and deployment of sand mining management in the Yangtze River at the provincial and municipal levels, strengthened the supervision responsibility of the water administration supervision team at the municipal and county levels, improved the coordination mechanism, normalized the law enforcement inspection and special renovation, and always maintained the strict inspection and crackdown of illegal sand mining. Since 2017, the city has handled 26 cases of illegal sand mining. At the same time of strict management, water departments at the municipal and county levels actively build water publicity positions such as "River Protection Ark" and "Yangtze River School", and strive to enhance the awareness of the whole society to protect and love the Yangtze River, so as to further cohere the overall synergy of "Yangtze River Protection".

Next, the water department of the whole city will strengthen the action of "double promotion of inspection and supervision", continue to strengthen law enforcement and inspection, regularly carry out the work of "protecting the river" and "Qingjiang River", strive to create a situation of strict investigation and crackdown on illegal sand mining, and resolutely protect the beautiful Yangtze River shoreline of 158 kilometers.
