Recently, Laos Mengsong Wind Power Project, the largest wind power project in Southeast Asia contracted by China Electric Power Construction, started construction and entered the stage of construction and implementation. Located in Sekong Province and Attapeu Province in southern Laos, the project is the first wind power project in Laos, the largest overseas wind power project undertaken by China Power Construction, and the first cross-border new energy project in Asia. The main construction contents of
the project include 600 MW wind farm, 5 booster stations and 500 kV transmission lines. After completion, it will mainly transmit electricity to Vietnam. It will be the first time for Laos to realize cross-border transmission of new energy power to alleviate the power shortage in central Vietnam and help Laos further build "Southeast Asia Battery". The project is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 35 million tons during its life cycle.
