On November 18, a sodium-ion battery project with a planned total investment of 10 billion yuan and an annual capacity of 30 GWh was signed and settled in Jiangsu. The contracting parties are Fudi Battery, a subsidiary of BYD, and Huaihai Holding Group. The two sides will build the world's largest sodium-ion system supplier for mini-cars. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD, and Song Lewei, Secretary of the Xuzhou Municipal Party Committee witnessed the signing of the sodium-ion battery project.
The contracted sodium-ion battery project, jointly constructed by Huaihai Holding Group and Fudi Battery Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 10 billion yuan and an annual capacity of 30 GWh, will build the world's largest sodium-ion battery system supplier for mini-cars. This is also the second cooperation between BYD and Xuzhou.
In addition, in November last year, Fudi Battery and Xugong Group jointly invested 10 billion yuan to build a new energy power battery production base project. At present, 310000 square meters of factory buildings and dormitory buildings have all been capped, and the construction of mechanical and electrical installation and decoration projects has been carried out in an all-round way. It is expected that the production equipment will be installed and commissioned in mid-late December, and trial production will be carried out in early March next year.
