1. In your opinion, what role should cement play in the process of human sustainable development? What does the green development of the cement industry include? Many years ago, cement production resulted in significant dust emissions, as well as emissions of nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide. Today, we can see that the cement industry has made great efforts for sustainable development, not only setting strict emission standards, but also installing efficient filtration systems in many cement plants in order to achieve dust-free production. In addition, reducing the emission of nitrogen oxides has become very important for the entire cement industry. In my opinion, cement, as the most important raw material for infrastructure construction, not only brings more convenience to people's lives, but also assumes social responsibility in a sustainable way.

As a supplier in the cement industry, we have long foreseen the trend of green development. This trend is reflected in several aspects: First, efficient optimization by reducing fuel and electricity consumption in the cement production process. Second, use alternative materials such as calcined clay to replace clinker to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

2. Recently, the domestic coal price has been rising. ® -SC technology, which uses Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), household waste, and even hazardous waste to replace coal and improve combustion efficiency, is truly "turning waste into treasure.".

The prepol ® -SC is a very efficient combustion grate consisting of a number of static, non-moving, refractory steps, hence the system name "step burner". On the combustion grate, the waste can be burned at high temperature for more than 1,000 seconds, while the combustion time of ordinary decomposition furnace combustion technology is only up to 7 seconds. Because the carbon emission intensity of alternative fuels is lower than that of traditional fossil fuels when the calorific value is the same, the use of alternative fuels is also regarded as an important measure to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and can help customers save fuel costs, so as to truly achieve cost reduction, efficiency and green production.

3. What is ThyssenKrupp's vision in continuing to promote the green transformation of the cement industry? What help can be provided for China's cement? As early as a few years ago, we have launched sustainable R & D projects and product development in cement production. Since 2019, we have been advocating and promoting "grey cement, green intelligent manufacturing" (# grey2green), and we have a complete solution in terms of alternative fuels, emission reduction, intelligent manufacturing, and carbon dioxide capture.

In addition to the prepol ® -SC technology mentioned above, Our polysius ® oxy-fuel combustion process uses pure oxygen as the combustion gas, eliminating the need for expensive and complex exhaust gas recirculation. The basic principle of oxygen-enriched combustion is to capture the carbon dioxide in the waste gas of cement production and prevent it from entering the atmosphere. The implementation of this method is quite challenging because the composition of the exhaust gas must be changed in order to capture the carbon dioxide emissions of the cement plant, which is achieved by using pure oxygen instead of air for combustion. In combination with proper process and equipment design, the exhaust gas is mainly composed of CO2 , enabling more efficient separation of CO2 . I am proud of our new polysius ® oxy-fuel technology, which uses pure oxygen as the combustion gas and does not rely on complex exhaust gas recirculation and less efficient CO2 separation. In other words, ThyssenKrupp is taking action to provide a suitable solution for reducing carbon emissions in cement production.

Nitrogen oxide treatment is also the key difficulty for the cement industry to achieve ultra-low emission of pollutants, and the nitrogen oxide conversion efficiency of the high temperature and high dust " SCR selective catalytic reduction denitrification technology " developed by ThyssenKrupp has already reached more than 95%. And can effectively solve that problem of ultra-low emission of nitrogen oxide in the cement industry. Because we have more than ten years of experience in SCR systems in the cement business, so far, we have a number of successful cases of SCR technology in high temperature and high dust environment in China.

Nitrogen oxide treatment is also a very relevant key problem for the cement industry to achieve ultra-low pollutant emissions. ThyssenKrupp CemCat has developed " SCR Selective Catalytic Reduction Denitrification Technology " for the special needs of the cement industry, with an emission reduction rate of up to 95%, which can effectively solve the problem of ultra-low emission of nitrogen oxides in the cement industry.
