Vietnam's Ministry of Construction revealed that up to now, according to the objectives of Vietnam's building materials development strategy in the 2021-2030 period and the 2050 vision, the investment intensity of some building materials products has approached the 2025 target.
According to the survey results of the actual supply and demand of building materials products in the market and the investment in production development, the Ministry of Construction emphasizes that the actual output of some building materials products only reaches 80-85% of the design capacity, and the consumption is also lower than the production.
Specifically, for cement products, as of December 31, 2020, China has invested in 85 cement production lines, with a total annual capacity of more than 104 million tons. Among them, 24 production lines have been approved by the government for investment until 2030, with a total capacity of 36.31 million tons.
Therefore, by 2030, there will be 109 cement production lines in the country, with a total annual capacity of more than 140 million tons. In 2020, the total output of clinker and cement in China will be about 104 million tons, and the sales volume will be 100 million Vietnamese Dong, of which the domestic consumption will be about 62 million tons and the export will be 38 million tons.
For ceramic tile products, by the end of 2020, there were 83 ceramic tile factories in China, with a total annual production capacity of about 826 million square meters. In 2020, the total output of ceramic tiles was about 560 million square meters. The domestic consumption is about 465 million square meters, and the export volume is about 180 million US dollars.
On the other hand, the daily production capacity of the national architectural glass factory is about 5120 tons, which is equivalent to 3.55 square meters per year. It is worth noting that in 2020, the output of architectural glass will reach about 280 million square meters, which is significantly lower than the design capacity of 355 million square meters, and the consumption will only be 200 million square meters. At present, the production lines of some manufacturers have been suspended. Proceeding
from the actual situation, the Ministry of Construction requires the provincial and municipal people's committees to consider carefully when examining and approving investment proposals for the production of some building materials products, so as to avoid excessive investment and serious overcapacity, resulting in waste of social resources.
