According to Pakistan's Business Record on December 17, the latest large-scale manufacturing index data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) showed that cement production increased by 23.51% year-on-year to 16.43 million tons from July to October. Benefiting from the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the increase in construction activities of private sector projects, the demand for cement increased significantly, which led to the development of the cement industry and the significant increase in cement production. An official of the Central Power Administration disclosed that the construction of several hydropower projects, including SK Hydropower Station, Dasu Hydropower Station and Karot Hydropower Station, has further increased the demand for cement.
