On September 1, 2018, on the eve of the High-level Dialogue between Chinese and African Leaders and Business Representatives and the Sixth China-Africa Entrepreneurs Conference, Ghanaian President Akufo-Addo cordially met with Song Zhiping, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee of China Building Materials Group, and his delegation at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
Akufo-Addo said that he was very happy to visit China and to hold talks with the delegation of China National Building Material Group. He pointed out that "one district, one factory" is the national economic revitalization strategy of the Ghanaian government and is of great significance in the national economic development. He fully affirmed the contribution made by China Building Materials to the "one district, one factory" project, expressed satisfaction with the business development, and hoped that China Building Materials would intensify its efforts, speed up its progress and promote the early landing of the project. In this process, if there are any problems that need to be solved, the relevant government departments of Ghana will give strong support and assistance to solve them.
Song Zhiping thanked President Akufo-Addo for meeting with the delegation of China Building Materials Group during his visit to China and for giving China Building Materials the opportunity to participate in Ghana's economic construction. President Akufo-Addo put forward measures to improve Ghana's economy, such as "change, employment, prosperity, security and peace", which made Ghana's economy flourish and provided favorable conditions for China's in-depth work in Ghana.
Song Zhiping elaborated on the general situation of the development of China's building materials industry, and emphatically introduced the situation of the Group's building materials industrial park in Zambia. He said that Ghana is a beautiful country and has an important influence in Africa. China's building materials industry attaches great importance to its business development in Ghana. At the same time, it is very willing to combine its own industrial advantages to promote the construction of building materials industrial parks in Ghana and play a greater role in the local economic construction and social development of Ghana. President Akufo-Addo was very happy after listening to the introduction. He believed that China Building Materials was a powerful company and was very optimistic about the business development of China Building Materials in Ghana.
Chen Yongxin, General Manager of China Building Materials Import and Export, and Ziremantan, Minister of Trade and Industry of Ghana, reported in detail on the progress of the "One Zone, One Factory" project on behalf of both sides. CNBM conducted extensive market research in the early stage of import and export, actively communicated with relevant government departments in Ghana and achieved certain results. In the future, CNBM will make every effort to promote the construction of "one district, one factory" project and put the work into practice.
