7月28日，什邡-成都“公转铁”首趟砂石班列成功开行。
成铁物流公司积极响应国家环保要求，利用铁路运输优惠政策，延伸服务链条，力促散货入箱“公转铁”运输上量，通过与什邡政府、绵阳车务段等有关部门数次沟通后成功开行本次专列。
2018年4月，为加快推进成铁物流公司物流项目建设以及砂石班列的开行，成铁物流公司总经理陈敏就曾带队到宝成线马角坝车站考察调研货场及开行砂石班列条件。
本次什邡砂石建材成功铁路运输至成都，成铁物流公司以进蓉建筑材料为突破口，将助力实现减少公路运量、减少大气环境污染、共同建设美丽城市“蓝天保卫战”，也是成铁路六转型发展部署的重要举措和具体实践。
