Vietnam's Ministry of Construction said that since the beginning of the year, the building materials market has basically maintained a stable function. The output of cement, ceramics, building glass and other building materials increased year on year to ensure a balance between supply and demand and expand the export market.
According to the Building Materials Bureau of the Ministry of Construction, in June this year, cement sales were about 8.71 million tons, up 30% year-on-year. It is worth mentioning that in the first two quarters of this year, cement sales reached 6.91 million tons, up 29% year-on-year. Among them, the Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) sold 2.18 million tons of cement. The most notable feature of the cement market is the surge in cement exports. In the first two quarters of this year, cement exports reached 1.8 million tons, up 35% year-on-year.
In the first half of this year, cement stocks amounted to 3.1 million tons, equivalent to 14 to 15 production days, mainly cement clinker .
Experts in the field of building materials believe that the reason for the increase in cement sales in the domestic market is that the weather is conducive to construction. The reason for the surge in cement exports is that China is temporarily suspending production.
In addition to the production of building materials, the Ministry of Construction also pays more attention to the formulation of laws in the field of building materials. The construction department has basically completed two planning and research works: by 2025, the exploration, development and utilization planning of cement mineral resources in 2035 is expected; by 2025, the exploration, development and utilization planning of main building materials mineral resources in 2035 is expected.
