Vietnam's cement sales continued to show a good growth trend in the first half of 2018, especially in exports, which reached more than 15 million US dollars, an increase of 50% over the same period last year.
Cement sales in June reached about 8.71 million tons, up 30% from a year earlier, the Ministry of Construction's Department of Building Materials said. Among them, the domestic cement sales volume reached 6.91 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 29%; the export volume reached about 6.91 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 35%.
Cement sales in the mainland market and export market have maintained a good growth trend. In the first six months of 2018, cement sales totaled 51.42 million tons, up 25% year-on-year and 61% of the annual plan.
It is worth mentioning that in the first six months of 2018, the export volume of cement reached about 15.42 million tons, reaching 85.6% of the annual plan and 50% year-on-year growth.
In the first six months of 2018, Vietnam's cement inventory reached 3.1 million tons, equivalent to 14-15 days of production, and mainly clinker .
Experts believe that the main reason for the rise in cement sales in the mainland is the good weather and the start of construction projects. At the same time, China's suspension of cement production has led to a substantial increase in exports.
