From January to April, the overall economy of Inner Mongolia showed a steady and progressive development trend. Among them, cement production decreased by 22.4%, caustic soda production decreased by 5.7%, flat glass production increased by 0.6%, and refined methanol production increased by 0.4%.

Among them, the added value of industries above the scale of the whole region increased by 5.6% year-on-year, 1.1 percentage points faster than first quarter, the consumer price rose by 1.6% year-on-year, 0.4 percentage points lower than first quarter, and the ex-factory price of industrial producers rose by 3.8% year-on-year, 0.2 percentage points slower than first quarter.

   Industrial production has improved significantly, and quality and efficiency have steadily improved. In April, the added value of industries above the scale of the whole region increased by 8.7% year-on-year, 7.7 percentage points faster than that in March, and 1.7 percentage points faster than national average. New industries and new products are growing rapidly. The added value of high-tech industry increased by 21.7%, 8.2 percentage points faster than that in the first quarter; the added value of equipment manufacturing industry increased by 4.6%, 9.1 percentage points faster than that in the first quarter. The output of graphite and carbon products increased by 15.8%, the output of smart TV increased by 10.6% and the output of solar cells increased by 31.7%.

   The consumer market remained stable, and rural areas led the growth of consumption. From January to April, the total retail sales of social consumer goods in the whole region reached 221.74 billion yuan, an increase of 6.8% over the same period last year, and the growth rate was 0.3 percentage points faster than that in the first quarter. According to the location of business units, the retail sales in cities and towns were 194.13 billion yuan, an increase of 6.4% over the same period last year, and the growth rate was 0.2 percentage points faster than that in the first quarter. The retail sales in rural areas were 27.61 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2% over the same period last year, and the growth rate was 0.2 percentage points faster than that in the first quarter.

   Import and export growth slowed down, and processing trade increased substantially. Affected by the higher base of the same period last year, the growth rate of imports and exports dropped slightly. From January to April, the total import and export value of the whole region reached 32.23 billion yuan, down 1.5% from the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped by 3.4 percentage points compared with the first quarter. Among them, the export value of the whole region reached 11.99 billion yuan, an increase of 10.6% over the same period last year; the import value reached 20.24 billion yuan, a decrease of 7.4% over the same period last year. From the perspective of trade mode, the total import and export value of processing trade increased by 1.3 times, while the total import and export value of general trade decreased by 6.6%.

   Supply-side reform continued to advance, and the effect of "three cuts, one reduction and one supplement" was obvious. In terms of capacity reduction, from January to April, cement production decreased by 22.4% , caustic soda production decreased by 5.7%, flat glass production increased by 0.6%, and refined methanol production increased by 0.4%. In terms of inventory, by the end of April, the area of commercial housing for sale was 13.091 million square meters, down 1.3% year on year. In terms of deleveraging, from January to March, the asset-liability ratio of Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size decreased by 2.1 percentage points year-on-year. In terms of cost reduction, from January to March, the cost per 100 yuan of main business income of Industrial Enterprises above the scale decreased by 2.0 yuan compared with the same period last year. From January to April, investment in education increased by 61.3%, and investment in information transmission software and information technology services increased by 25.5%.
