London, 27 February 2018-The World Cement Association today announced the appointment of Bernard Mathieu as Director of the Association's Climate Programme. In this role, he will lead the WCA CEO Forum's "Global Climate Change Forum", which aims to draft the WCA Climate Change Roadmap. The forum will be held in Paris from 27 to 28 June 2018.
With 22 years experience in the cement, concrete and aggregates business, Bernard has extensive experience in sustainability-related roles, most recently as Head of Sustainability at LafargeHolcim. Prior to this, Bernard was the Head of Global Environmental Sustainability in Heidelberg and also represented the cement industry in meetings under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The WCA Climate Change Forum will bring together the CEOs of the world's largest cement companies, leaders of WCA member companies, and external stakeholders to address the environmental challenges facing the cement industry. The climate change programme is part of the World Cement Association's sustainability efforts (World Cement Association Sustainability Effort, WCASE), in which it collaborates with its members and other departments, organizations and associations to share best practices. And raise the bar for global industrial sustainability.
