Song Zhiping: China's economy will show a development trend of steady progress and steady improvement. Reporter: How do you see the development of China's building materials industry?
Song Zhiping: The development of China's building materials industry has supported the development of China's economy. Whether it is the steel or cement industry, it has made great contributions to China's past economic development. However, China's building materials industry has also shown overcapacity in the whole process of economic development. In the past few years, the government has launched supply-side structural reforms, which have greatly improved the market situation of many industries, including cement and new building materials, showing a good situation that has not been seen for many years; At present, China's building materials industry is undergoing profound structural adjustment, industrial upgrading, moving towards high-end, from speed development to quality and efficiency development, constantly eliminating backward production capacity, upgrading technology and equipment level, which is the general trend of the development of China's building materials industry; China's building materials industry has supported the economic development of the countries along the "the Belt and Road" line. In the past decade, China's building materials industry has built 312 cement production lines in the countries along the "the Belt and Road" line, with a market share of 65%. It is rare for an enterprise to have a global market share of 65%, which shows the depth of localization and internationalization of China's technology and equipment. At present, on the whole, although the development of China's building materials industry has phased problems, my views on the future development of the building materials industry are positive. Judging from the meeting of the World Cement Association in recent days, many European companies want to study and learn from China's experience, including supply-side reform, and how to adjust it in a short time. China's experience and practices have aroused their great interest, and they have repeatedly mentioned that they should learn from China's experience.
Reporter: How to look at the role of Chinese building materials in the "the Belt and Road"?
Song Zhiping: The business of CNBM in the countries along the "the Belt and Road" is not only to build factories, but also to manage factories, sell products and improve technical standards. CNBM is not only a manufacturer, but also includes scientific research and management services. Therefore, we are a comprehensive management service provider rather than a competitor. I also said at the inaugural meeting of the World Cement Association that if we need capital, we can invest; if we need equipment, we can engage in EPC; if we need management, we can do factory management; if we need market, we can provide sales and modern logistics; China Building Materials is not only the largest building materials manufacturer in the world, but also the largest integrated service provider in the building materials industry, which is particularly important. In addition, in the process of "going out", we also need to pay attention to the corporate image. We have three principles, the first is to contribute to the local economic development; the second is to cooperate well with local enterprises, not to crush local enterprises; the third is to serve the local people, do public welfare and do good deeds.
Reporter: How do you feel about being elected as the first president of the World Cement Association? What experience can China Building Materials share with you in this regard for Chinese enterprises to "go out"?
Song Zhiping: The world's cement sales is a very large number, 4.3 billion tons, which is an astronomical figure. The world's steel sales are only more than 2 billion tons, and the world's cement sales are twice as much as steel sales. But such a large industry lacks a world-class platform organization. The steel industry has the World Iron and Steel Association and the International Glass Association, but the cement industry has not had such a worldwide organization before. Now, we have established the World Cement Association in the UK, which is a landmark event, including the coordination, service and publicity of the industry. The establishment of the association is also a reflection of the development and self-maturity of the cement industry over the years.
China Building Material is a founding member of the World Cement Association and an important member. In recent years, China has not been the chairman of many international industry organizations. This time, I was elected as the chairman of the World Cement Association, which reflects several problems. First, China's economy and China's contribution have a growing impact on the world, which was previously dominated by Europe and the United States. Now I am invited to be the chairman of the World Cement Association. It is not my personal business, but the country's business. Second, the development of China's cement industry in recent years has also been recognized by the world, and the development of China's building materials has also been recognized by the industry, which has contributed to the election of the representative of China's building materials as the chairman of the World Cement Association, which was unthinkable 10 years ago. China Building Materials is also very willing to participate in such international organizations. As stated in the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China is approaching the center of the world stage. The World Cement Association has chosen Chinese entrepreneurs as its chairman, which also reflects that China is approaching the center of the world stage.
The conference was very successful and grand, and the response both at home and abroad was enormous. From the perspective of the association, I have just held a meeting with the director of the executive committee of the association. What problems should our association solve and what consensus has been reached at this meeting? I have summed up five points:
First, the global cement industry has made important contributions to the development of the world economy. Today, the global cement industry is entering a new era of structural adjustment and innovative development, which requires global cement enterprises to carry out exchanges and cooperation, build consensus, improve the awareness of all sectors of society on the development of the cement industry, and win wider social support;
Second, in recent years, the focus of world cement has shifted to China, which has made great contributions to the development of global cement industry in terms of R & D, technology, equipment and manufacturing;
Third, China's supply-side structural reform policy has provided a good market environment for the healthy development of China's cement industry, and China's successful experience is worth learning and learning from policy makers around the world. At present, the global cement market is generally surplus, and many regions have suffered overall losses. Member enterprises from all countries hope to learn from China's experience and practices;
Fourth, the World Cement Association pays close attention to the development of cement industry in emerging countries. The economic development of countries along the "the Belt and Road" is the biggest market opportunity in this century. It should seriously study the layout and development of cement industry in the "the Belt and Road" to provide a solid foundation for the construction of "the Belt and Road";
Fifth, the establishment of the World Cement Association is a good beginning.
