Former Lafarge CEO Bruno Lafont has been subpoenaed in the Lafarge Syria investigation, along with former chief human resources officer Eric Olsen and deputy general manager Christian Herrault, according to AFP sources.
The investigation is trying to determine whether Lafarge was making payments to terrorist groups in Syria and how much of Lafarge's management knew about it. Lafarge was the former CEO of Lafarge and Olsen was the CEO of the combined Lafarge-Holcim, but Olsen resigned in April 2017 after Lafarge-Holcim completed an internal review, although the investigation did not find that Olsen was involved in or even aware of the incident.
