Jumia, a major e-commerce company in Nigeria, recently announced that sales of the Black Friday shopping festival in Nigeria have reached a new high this year, up 174% from last year, the Nigerian newspaper reported on December 5. The group head described Black Friday as the busiest and biggest shopping day of the year both online and offline. She said that this year's Black Friday shopping festival demonstrates the growing operational capacity and flexibility of the online retail sector in Nepal. Shoppers are in all 36 States of Nigeria, including those traditionally inaccessible to e-commerce, reflecting the festival's growing connection with the general public. The person in charge disclosed that 85% of the visits to the website were made on mobile devices, with the largest number of orders for Tecno T401 mobile phones.
The head also announced that the company would partner with Dangote Cement to sell cement online at N2,500/bag. In view of the cost of transportation, the current cement online shopping business is only carried out in Lagos, Abuja and Hackett Port, with 300 bags for sale and delivery within 48 hours.
