Liu Zhijiang holds talks with Jamaica's Minister of Transport and Mines

   On November 3, Liu Zhijiang, Vice Chairman and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China National Building Material Group, held talks with Lester Michael Henry, Minister of Transport and Mines of Jamaica in Kingston, Jamaica.

   Henry welcomed Liu Zhijiang and his delegation and thanked them for the courtesy and hospitality they received during their visit to Sinoma in February this year. He further introduced the new measures taken by the Jamaican government to promote investment and economic development since the talks in China in February. Henry said that Jamaica is rich in mineral resources, such as bauxite, rare earth and limestone, and hoped that the two sides could rely on the opportunity of supply and demand of resources to reach strategic cooperation in many aspects. In November, Jamaica will hold "Mineral Resources Week", and China Building Materials Group is welcome to participate in and discuss investment cooperation.

   Liu Zhijiang said that China Building Materials Group has actively participated in the construction of "the Belt and Road" and international capacity cooperation, steadily carried out overseas investment, accelerated the expansion of overseas project contracting business, explored and innovated new modes of international trade, made substantial progress in the process of internationalization, and successfully created the national business card of "going out" of China's building materials industry. He said that China Building Materials Group is very interested in combining its own technological capabilities, industrial advantages and future expansion plans with Jamaica's economic development needs, and hopes to send a professional team to Jamaica to further investigate investment opportunities.

   During his stay in Jamaica, Liu Zhijiang and his delegation also visited Noranda Bauxite's bauxite ore transportation and treatment facilities in Discovery Bay, Jamaica.

   Officials from the Mineral Resources and Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Transport and Mines of Jamaica attended the talks. Peng Jianxin, President of Sinoma, Song Shoushun, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee of Sinoma International, and Tong Laigou, Chairman of Tianjin Plate of Sinoma International, attended the talks.
