On November 6, the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Luban Award and the 2016-2017 Experience Exchange Meeting on Creating Excellent Projects, sponsored by the China Construction Industry Association, were held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. The EPC general contracting project of Bulgaria Devnya Cement Plant with a daily output of 4000 tons of clinker of Sinoma Construction, a subsidiary of China National Building Material Group, won the Luban Award of China Construction Engineering (Overseas Project).
Sinoma Construction Bulgaria Devnya Project is located in Devnya City, eastern Bulgaria. It is invested by Italian Cement Group. It is the largest single investment project in Bulgaria in the past 25 years. It is constructed by EPC general contracting, with Sinoma Construction as the general contractor. On March 13, 2012, an EPC contract was signed, covering the design, supply, construction, commissioning and trial production of a cement clinker production line with a daily output of 4000 tons, all of which adopt EU technology and environmental protection and safety standards. On October 10, 2014, it was put into operation ahead of schedule and won the "Best Building Award 2014" of the Bulgaria for its excellent quality and service. On June 15, 2017, the FAC certificate was issued by the owner, and the responsibility of the general contract was fully completed.
This project is the seventh general contracting project in the European Union after Sinoma Construction inherited the projects in Italy, Spain, France, Hungary and Cyprus. This time, it won the Luban Award for Chinese Construction Projects (Overseas Projects), marking the success of the project.
