According to the Nigerian Herald on August 30, Nigerian Vice President Osinbajo attended the foundation laying ceremony of the 3 million tons production line of BUA OBU Cement Plant in Edo State on Tuesday.
The person in charge of BUA said that the 3 million tons cement production line of the plant was constructed by China National Materials Construction Co., Ltd., which enjoys a high reputation in the industry. It will adopt the most advanced production equipment and technology to fully meet the requirements of environmental protection, safety, quality and technology. The production line will make OBU Cement Plant a "world-class" factory that can produce all grades of cement.
Osinbajo pointed out that the 3 million-ton production line of OBU Cement Plant, which combines foreign advanced and efficient production equipment with local raw materials, will help relieve the country's dependence on imported cement and create more employment opportunities for young people. More importantly, the construction of the project shows that Nigeria's economic recovery and growth plan must be driven by private investment. The government will make every effort to remove the policy bottlenecks affecting the landing of investment and create a business environment conducive to private investment.
