According to the data of China Cement Network Cement Big Data (https://data.ccement.com/), from January to September, Vietnam's total export of cement and clinker reached 28.2493 million tons, an increase of 36.88% over the same period last year.
Among them, 15.6446 million tons of cement clinker were exported to China, close to the level of last year, accounting for 55.38% of Vietnam's export volume, and the proportion continued to increase.
According to September data, Vietnam's exports to China have further increased, exceeding 3 million tons for the first time in history. From the price point of view, in September, the average unit price of cement and clinker exported from Vietnam to China was 34.2 US dollars/ton, ending two consecutive months of decline, up 8.17% from August. However, compared with the same period last year, the price in September was still about 7% lower.
From the perspective of trend, the fourth quarter is the most active quarter for cement clinker trade. It is expected that the cement clinker from Vietnam will further increase, and China will have more than 22 million tons of cement clinker from Vietnam in the whole year.
Since the national cement price bottomed out at the end of July and the beginning of August this year, the national cement price index has risen by 8.15%. The price increase in August and September was stronger than that in the same period last year, but the price still failed to touch the May high. Entering the peak season of the fourth quarter, with the support of demand and the off-peak start of the northern market, it is expected that the cement price will further rise. However, a large number of imported clinker is bound to cause significant pressure on the cement market in the off-season of the coming year. Enterprises should prepare in advance to prevent sharp fluctuations in prices.
