China and Belarus are "good friends who treat each other with all sincerity and good partners who sincerely help each other.". Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 25 years ago, bilateral relations have maintained healthy and stable development. At present, the development momentum of bilateral relations is very good, and they are in the fast lane of accelerated development.
In September 2016, the heads of state of China and Belarus reached a consensus on further deepening the development of bilateral relations, and jointly declared their commitment to establishing a "comprehensive strategic partnership of mutual trust and win-win cooperation", developing all-weather friendship between the two sides, and jointly building a community of interests and destiny.
Belarus has responded positively to China's proposal to jointly build a "the Belt and Road", and Belarus attaches importance to and supports the joint construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt with China. China regards Belarus as an important partner in jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt, and is willing to work with Belarus to further link up development strategies and promote more achievements in jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.
In the process of jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt between the two countries, the China-Belarus "Jushi" Industrial Park occupies an important position. China-Belarus Industrial Park is the largest overseas industrial park that Chinese enterprises have participated in the construction of in the world, and it is also a landmark project of China-Belarus cooperation in building the Silk Road Economic Belt. At present, the infrastructure construction and investment promotion of the industrial park are steadily advancing. With the cooperation of relevant departments and enterprises of China and Belarus, the construction of the starting area of the first phase of the industrial park has been carried out as planned, and investment attraction has been carried out extensively all over the world, and positive results have been achieved. China and Belarus are working together to build the China-Belarus Industrial Park into an open, win-win, green and environmentally friendly international industrial cooperation platform, a model project for bilateral cooperation and a pearl project for the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt, and strive to bring new impetus to the economic development of Belarus.
The economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has developed rapidly, and the bilateral trade volume has increased by nearly 100 times since the establishment of diplomatic relations 25 years ago. In recent years, with the financing support of Chinese financial institutions, China and Belarus have implemented a number of major projects in the fields of power energy, infrastructure, industrial production, industrial park construction and development, which have made positive contributions to the economic and social development and modernization of Belarus.
According to statistics, up to now, the two sides have promoted the implementation of about 30 projects, with a loan scale of more than 6 billion US dollars. Three cement plants, Minsk 2 and 5 power station renovation, railway electrification renovation, M5 highway renovation, railway electric locomotive supply, information and communication technology projects have been affirmed by Belarus. In addition, China and Belarus have won a good reputation for Chinese enterprises, equipment, technology and services in Belarus, such as the successful launch of communication satellites, the selection of two projects, Beijing Hotel and Berezov Power Station, into the Luban Prize for Chinese Construction Projects (Overseas Projects), and the successful bidding of Chinese enterprises for World Bank loan projects in Belarus.
Local economic and trade cooperation is an important part of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Relevant departments and local governments of the two countries have further strengthened their docking, constantly explored new modes of cooperation, explored new projects, and fostered local economic and trade cooperation into a new growth point of pragmatic cooperation between the two countries. Up to now, six States of Belarus and the capital city of Minsk have established direct economic and trade exchanges with many provinces and cities in China, and the form and scale of cooperation have been expanding.
The extensive and in-depth exchanges and cooperation between China and Belarus in the humanities, including education, culture, science and technology, have effectively promoted mutual understanding between the two peoples, further enhanced the traditional friendship between the two peoples, and consolidated the public opinion and social basis for all-round pragmatic cooperation between China and Belarus.
At present, the close cooperation between China and Belarus in all aspects has reached the best period in history. The two countries are working hand in hand to maintain and strengthen the strong momentum of the development of bilateral relations, seize the rare opportunity brought by the joint construction of "the Belt and Road", inject new and strong impetus into the in-depth development of bilateral relations, and promote the development of bilateral relations to a higher level.
