Mechel, a Russian metals and mining giant, announced on Monday that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with China's Jidong Cement Co., Ltd. to supply thermal coal to Jidong Cement from this month for a period of one year, Reuters said on the evening of 21 Beijing time.
According to the agreement, Mechel will supply Jidong Cement with up to 250,000 tons of thermal coal per month, totaling 2 million to 3 million tons during the contract period.
