At the invitation of Lafarge-Holcim Group and Italcementi Group, Kong Xiangzhong, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of China Cement Association, led a team to France and Italy for investigation from June 19 to 26, 2016, focusing on the carbon emission reduction of European cement enterprises and the expanded application of cement-based materials. The delegation is composed of seven members from Sinoma Qilianshan Cement , Beijing Jinyu Group, Guangdong Cement Industry Association, Shandong Chongzheng Group and China Cement Association.
The delegation visited the headquarters of Lafarge-Holcim Group in Paris and the Italian Cement Group Innovation Research and Development Center in Bergamo, Italy. At the headquarters of Lafarge-Holcim Group in Paris, the delegation exchanged and communicated with Lafarge-Holcim Group executives on the control and trading of carbon emissions in the EU and the company's business in China. Mr. Le Feng, Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lafarge-Holcim Group, held separate talks with Secretary-General Kong Xiangzhong and cordially received the members of the delegation.
In the R & D Center of Italian Cement Group, the delegation visited the laboratory of the R & D Center and the demonstration and application of innovative products, conducted in-depth exchanges with the scientists of the Center on the research and application of cement-based materials, and learned in detail about the R & D and promotion of new products, especially the application of transparent concrete walls and photocatalyst materials in cement-based materials. This brings a good inspiration to China's cement enterprises in the development of cement-based materials. Ms. Li Yan of Italian Cement made a special trip to Bergamo R & D Center to assist the delegation in visiting and exchanging, which touched the members of the delegation very much. ItalianCement is restructuring and integrating with Heidelberg Cement, Germany, and the restructured company will continue to retain and play the role of Bergamo R & D Center.
The delegation also exchanged views with the two groups on enterprise merger and reorganization, adjustment of product structure, transformation and upgrading, technological innovation, energy conservation and emission reduction, and social responsibility. At the same time, the members of the delegation were deeply impressed by the serious and rigorous work style of European enterprises and the professionalism of attaching great importance to safety and environmental protection. The investigation has achieved the expected results.
