On October 10, Lin Zhiyong, the economic and commercial representative in Tanzania, attended the completion and commissioning ceremony of the cement plant constructed by China National Materials International Engineering Co., Ltd. (Nanjing) in Mtwara. President Kikwete of Tanzania attended and spoke at the ceremony, which was attended by dignitaries and business leaders from Nigeria, Mozambique, Malawi, Cameroon and representatives of multinational missions. In his speech, the President highly praised the high-quality and efficient construction level of our company, saying that this is the largest single-line cement production line in Central and East Africa, and the design standards adopted by the project are far higher than international standards.
The project is invested by DANGOTE Group of Nigeria and jointly implemented by enterprises of China, Tanzania and Nigeria, with an investment of about 330 million US dollars, a designed daily output of 7500 tons and a construction area of 1.5 million square meters. The construction was officially started in June 2013, with a construction period of 27 months, and the quality of the project was highly praised by all parties. The project is contracted and constructed by Sinoma International in the form of EPC, which is designed and constructed by the company in accordance with Chinese standards, and will even be responsible for the operation and management of the project. 90% of the equipment used in the project is imported from China, and 100% of the steel is imported from China, which has led dozens of brotherly enterprises to come out. This is a model for our enterprise to get rid of excessive dependence on project contracting and explore diversified development.
