The Ministry of Construction has just released a report on Vietnam's cement production and sales in the first half of 2015. Accordingly, the sales volume of cement in the first half of the year was about 34.16 million tons, equivalent to 106% of the same period last year. The recovery of cement market will lead to the recovery of real estate, interior decoration and other markets.
According to the Ministry of Construction, the sales demand of Vietnam's entire cement industry in 2015 is expected to be 72 million to 74 million tons, up 1.5% to 2% year-on-year. Among them, 53 million to 54 million tons were sold in the mainland and 19 million to 20 million tons were exported.
Cement output in the first half of 2015 was about 34.16 million tons, equivalent to 106% of the same period last year and 47% of the annual plan. Among them, the sales volume in the mainland was about 25.97 million tons, equivalent to 105% of the same period last year; the export volume was about 8.19 million tons, equivalent to 107.7% of the same period last year.
Two cement projects will be put into operation this year, including the 12/9 oil and gas cement project with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons and the No.2 Gongqing cement project with an annual production capacity of 3.6 million tons. No cement projects were put into operation in 2016. Therefore, there are currently 76 cement production lines in the country, with a total designed power of 81.56 million tons and a mobile power of about 79-80 million tons.
From now until 2016, Vietnam's cement supply is still expected to ensure domestic sales demand and export 15-16 million tons per year.
