During his talks with Prime Minister Philemon of Cameroon, Li Keqiang stressed the need to upgrade the quality of China-Cameroon friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Li Keqiang said that the traditional friendship between China and Cameroon is profound, the economy is highly complementary, and mutually beneficial cooperation is at the forefront of China-Africa cooperation. China attaches importance to developing relations with Cameroon and is willing to enhance political mutual trust with Cameroon, deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields, strengthen cultural exchanges, strengthen communication and coordination in international and regional affairs, and continuously inject new impetus into China-Cameroon relations.
Li Keqiang pointed out that China is willing to dock its development strategy with Cameroon and build a model for China-Africa capacity cooperation. We will actively carry out cooperation in equipment, technology and investment and financing in line with the needs of infrastructure construction such as power, ports and industrial parks, highways, railways, communications and urban water supply. China encourages its building materials, steel, textile, flat glass, cement and other enterprises to invest and set up factories in Cameroon to boost its industrialization process. We will actively explore ways to promote cooperation in civil aviation, agriculture and human resources development between China and Cameroon, and promote the upgrading of friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Cameroon.
Li Keqiang stressed that strengthening solidarity and cooperation with developing countries, including Africa, has always been an important cornerstone of China's foreign policy. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and the two sides will hold the sixth ministerial meeting of the Forum. China is ready to work with Africa to advance the "six major cooperation projects" in industry, finance, poverty reduction, ecological and environmental protection, people-to-people exchanges, and peace and security, actively carry out the "three networks and industrialization" cooperation in high-speed railway, highway, regional aviation network and infrastructure industrialization, and promote the comprehensive development of China-Africa new strategic partnership.
Philemon said that China is a great country, with mutual trust and fruitful cooperation between Cameroon and China, and bilateral relations can be regarded as a model for the development of state-to-state relations. Cameroon thanks China for its long-term support for its economic and social development, and is willing to further consolidate the friendly relations between the two countries, actively carry out capacity cooperation with China, strengthen cooperation in infrastructure construction, iron ore mining, hydropower stations and sports facilities, and welcome Chinese enterprises to invest in Cameroon. The Kazakh side is willing to work with China to promote the in-depth development of Africa-China relations.
Prior to the talks, Li Keqiang held a welcoming ceremony for Philemon at the square outside the East Gate of the Great Hall of People, which was attended by Li Haifeng, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, and others.
After the talks, the two prime ministers witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation documents in the fields of economy, technology, infrastructure, and cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises.
