At the end of Jiawu, I had the honor to be invited to accompany Conch Cement Chairman Guo Wensan and his delegation to visit Laos. After close contact with Mr. Wen San, I have a better understanding of this entrepreneur who has made outstanding contributions to the development of China's national industry. His persistent pursuit of the modernization of the cement industry, his profound understanding of corporate social responsibility, his rigorous and meticulous style of work, his enthusiasm and sincerity for personnel training, and his optimism and epiphany about life all make me express my heartfelt respect for this contemporary Chinese cement giant. He is far-sighted in the future development of the cement industry and has a pair of eyes with insight into the market situation.
After meeting in Kunming, we flew on the same plane to Vientiane, the capital of Laos. According to the inspection schedule, a series of inspection activities were carried out in an orderly manner. Mr. Wen San attaches great importance to this work investigation, and requires that in the limited time, he must make a detailed investigation on the relevant industrial development policies, raw material reserves and grades, transportation conditions, water and electricity supply, market conditions, and even folk customs of the country where the cement enterprise is invested and constructed. It provides a reliable decision-making basis for the layout and development of Conch Cement in Southeast Asia. Everywhere he went, he always listened carefully to the briefings of the local government and overseas Chinese in Laos, asked about the situation carefully, and gave hearty laughter from time to time, which was respectable, amiable and credible. Regardless of the fatigue of traveling, he went deep into the production sites and mines of cement enterprises with the inspectors, and did not let go of every detail of the factory layout, raw material supply, site management, equipment operation, product quality and sales market. He kept asking drivers to stop, get off and visit local cement retail stalls, and go deep into small cement concrete block workshops to get first-hand and accurate on-site information. Who would have imagined that this giant in China's cement industry would be in such an obscure place in a foreign country, not ashamed to ask the local people to understand in many ways, and strive to verify the reliability of information and data.
One day, we were investigating the conditions for building a factory in a certain place in Laos. We had been running around for a whole morning. After a hasty lunch, we came to the site with rolling mountains and dense forests. He always walked in front of the team, sometimes drilling into the dense teak forest to inspect the topography, and sometimes coming to the gully formed by mountain torrents to learn about the geological structure. As he walked, he told the designers that the low-lying area belonged to the sedimentary layer formed by the orogenic movement hundreds of millions of years ago, and that the main production line layout must be close to the foot of the mountain to avoid the risk of high foundation cost. When surveying the limestone mine, he led us to climb the rugged mountain path, and told the geological engineer to carefully inspect each exposed ore body, and use GPS to locate and sample at any time. The path for the local Miao people to climb the mountain was bumpy, covered with thorns, and covered with large and small stones washed down by the rain. There was almost no straight road in the middle. The winding road led to the depths of the mountain. The danger and difficulty of climbing were indescribable. Most of the accompanying people were so tired that they knelt on their feet and their clothes were soaked with sweat. Some had to stop. Mr. Wensan, however, showed no sign of tiredness and took the lead in climbing to the highest Miao village before stopping. Standing at the top, his tall and burly body carefully examined the panorama of the future production area and limestone mine, and from time to time exchanged relevant issues with the local village head through an interpreter. Surrounded by mountains, this piece of flat land is backed by mountains, facing south. In front of the future production area, there is a small river flowing slowly. On both sides of the river, there are dense bamboos and whirling trees. The clear river flows westward around an S-shaped bend, and finally disappears behind a densely forested but not high hillside in front of it. This is a rare geomantic treasure land. In the setting sun, in his wise mind, he was planning the future production line construction and limestone mining plan. He told the accompanying technicians how to build the road in and out of the mine, how to plan platform for limestone mining, how to determine the direction of blasting, how to arrange the production line most reasonably, and how to determine the location of living facilities for workers. What is more valuable is his vision of environmental protection. He repeatedly told the technicians that they must carefully arrange the general plan, keep as many trees as possible in the factory area, and strive to build a green and modern cement enterprise, which will add radiance and beauty to the beautiful surrounding environment.
Before I knew it, it was already late, and the red setting sun shone on the mountains and rivers, making them golden. Everyone was hungry, and he stood with them on the beach of the river, drinking mineral water and eating bread. He also raised his camera from time to time to take wonderful pictures of the members of the expedition harmony between Man and Nature with the sunset scenery. Just after a simple meal, he proposed to demonstrate the layout of the living area of factory workers, and led the inspectors back to the deep forest. His practical and approachable work style deeply infects every peer inspector. Mr. Wen San is also the most easy-going, low-key, dedicated, pragmatic and wise entrepreneur I have ever met in my life.
Conch Cement started in the 1980s when everything needed to be done in the country. Under the leadership of Mr. Guo Wensan, Conch Cement has kept up with the pace of development of the times. After 30 years of continuous innovation, continuous transcendence, hard work and hard work, Conch Cement has led the development trend of new dry-process cement in China and even in the world, and established the leading position of Conch Cement in the cement industry in China and even in the world. Through this investigation trip to Southeast Asia, I feel that an excellent enterprise with a high sense of responsibility to the society can not be separated from his leader with super wisdom and foresight, his grasp and foresight of the future, his independent personality of doing things, and his open-minded mind.
I personally participated in Conch Cement's visit to Laos, which not only deepened my understanding of the chief designer of Conch Cement, but also expressed my admiration for the professional level and work style of the young and energetic management team of Conch Cement. Conch Cement implements the "going out" development strategy, which is in line with the national "the Belt and Road" foreign development strategy. We have reason to believe that Conch Cement is China's and will be the world's!
