Vietnam's exports of cement and clinker brought in nearly $1.4 billion in 2019.

According to the report of Vietnam's Ministry of Import and Export (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in 2019, Vietnam exported about 34 million tons of cement and clinker worth $1.394 billion, an increase of $148 million over 2018.

As a result, this year is the second consecutive year that the cement industry has set an export record, with consecutive billion-dollar export projects in the forefront.

In 2018, Vietnam exported nearly 32 million tons of products worth $1246 billion, making it the world leader in cement and clinker exports. Needless to say, exports in 2018 increased by 11 million tons over 2017.

It is estimated that the total output of cement and clinker in 2019 will be about 98-99 million tons, an increase of 2% over 2018. In particular, Vietnam's domestic cement sales volume is about 67 million tons, and the export of cement products and clinker is about 34 million tons. The

export result was 34 million tons, close to $1.4 billion, compared with the forecast of Vietnam's Ministry of Construction since the beginning of 2019, which has exceeded the 10000- $150 million. The Chairman of the

Cement Association, Mr. Nguyen Quang Cung (Nguyen Quang Gong), said that export prices, including clinker and cement, had also increased compared to previous years due to positive export markets.

In 2020, the Ministry of Construction predicts that the demand for cement will continue to grow by 4-5% compared with 2019, reaching about 10.1-103 billion tons, of which the domestic consumption of cement is about 69-70 million tons, and the export is about 32-34 million tons.

The domestic industry is strong enough to meet the needs of both domestic and export markets, and two more cement production lines are expected to be put into operation. The closest project is the Tan Thang (Xinsheng) cement project in Ngee Ann, which has a scale of 2 million tons and will be put into operation in mid-2020.
