Tajikistan's Ministry of Industry and New Technology said that in the next two years, the country plans to build six more cement plants to change the situation of domestic cement shortage . Benefiting from the substantial increase in the Rogun hydropower plant, roads and other national infrastructure projects, the demand for cement in Tajikistan has risen sharply, even to 2 million tons per year, while the total domestic cement production in 2014 was only 1 million tons.
After these new cement plants are completed and put into operation, Tajikistan will transform from a cement importer to a cement exporter.
At present, there are 10 cement plants in Tajikistan. The largest cement plant is the Sino-Tajik joint venture Huaxin Yawan Cement Co., Ltd. (With an output of 760,000 tons), and the second largest is the Tajik National Cement Company (with an output of 178,000 tons).
Tajchina, a joint venture cement plant between China and Tajikistan, is expected to start production in 2015. In addition, other cement plants will be built in Dangara, Bobokon, Gafurov, Isfara and Istiklol areas.
Editor's note : In 2011, Huaxin Cement built a 3000t/d new dry process cement production line (Sino-Tajikistan joint venture) in Yawan City, Tajikistan. Officially put into operation in August 2013, it is the only new dry process cement project in the tower and the largest and most modern industrial enterprise so far. At the same time, Huaxin Cement quickly established its position as the first brand of cement in Tajikistan. In 2013, Huaxin Yawan Company produced 287,000 tons of clinker and cement, accounting for 75% of the total output of cement in that year. Huaxin Huzhande Project and Dangara Project will be completed and put into operation in 2015 and 2016 respectively in order to further take the lead in the cement market of Tajikistan and its surrounding countries. By then, the total production capacity of Huaxin Cement in Tajikistan will reach 3.5 million tons, which can radiate Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and other countries.
