[Original] Vietnam's Cement Clinker Exports Increase by 15%

   Vietnam Cement Association said that in 2014 , Vietnam's cement and clinker exports will reach 20 million to 21 million tons, about $1 billion, an increase of more than 15% over the same period last year. According to the preliminary statistics of the General Administration of Customs, the shipment volume and amount of cement and clinker from January to October increased compared with the same period last year, and the shipment volume of cement and clinker reached nearly 18 million tons.

   Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation ( Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem)) accounts for 34% of Vietnam's cement exports. The company exported 1.8 million tons of cement and clinker in the first three quarters of 2014 and plans to export another 1 million tons in the fourth quarter of this year, said Tran Viet Thang, the company's director general.
