Asia Cement is considering an acquisition of South Korea's Ssangyong Cement. Asia Cement is in talks to buy a 46.8% stake in Ssangyong Cement, which has a market value of $762 million, according to investment bankers.
In 2013, Asia Cement ranked seventh in South Korea in terms of shipments, accounting for 6.9% of the market share, with sales of $418 million. In the same period, the sales of Ssangyong Cement in Korea reached 1.96 billion US dollars, accounting for 22% of the market share.
