Li Yeqing: We Will Increase Investment in Tajikistan

   On the afternoon of September 10, the "Multilateral Economic and Trade Forum of SCO Member States" was held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. SCO Secretary-General Mezentsev, Prime Minister Rasulzoda of Tajikistan and other political and business representatives attended the forum. Li Yeqing, President of Huaxin Cement, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Promoting Win-win Cooperation and Achieving Common Development" at the forum. Energy security and new industrial technology cooperation, agriculture and food security, financial cooperation, logistics and transportation cooperation, and regional tourism development.

   Huaxin Cement, with its successful development experience in Tajikistan, was selected as a successful model of SCO industrial and investment cooperation and was introduced at the forum. In his speech, President Li Yeqing said that Huaxin Cement has always followed the basic principle of "promoting win-win cooperation and achieving common development", and introduced the latest generation of new dry cement line for Tajik cooperation projects, whether it is plant operation efficiency and kiln-mill output, or energy-saving level and environmental protection emission level. All of them have reached the world's leading level. At the same time, from the beginning of production, Huaxinya Bay Company has taken the initiative to let the Tajik cement market and reduce the sales price of cement, which has reduced the sales price of Tajik cement by more than 30%, fundamentally changing the situation that 70% of Tajik cement used to rely on imports. From project construction to operation, Tajik Huaxin Yawan Company has successively resettled more than 300 local poor residents for employment, and invested in improving the conditions of surrounding community roads, power grids and residential tap water networks. In July 2014, Huaxin once again invested heavily in the establishment of the "I Love Tajikistan" Huaxin Fund, with an annual capital injection of about 1 million somoni, mainly to help the Tajik community. President Li Yeqing said that Huaxin Cement will also increase its investment in Tajikistan. It plans to invest 250 million US dollars to build the second and third factories, increase the influence of project investment, change Tajikistan from a cement importer to a cement exporter, and make the cement industry one of the pillars of Tajikistan's economic development.
