Lithium Carbonate Prices Continue to Collapse! On September 11, the main futures contract fell nearly 5%, falling below 130000 yuan/ton, a new low in the year, and the price fell nearly 20% from a high of 160000 in just two weeks.
Spot prices also continued to decline, completely breaking the market's "golden nine silver ten" peak season expectations. This round of slump is not a sudden surge in production capacity, the core fuse is the adjustment of inventory statistics.
The new regulations include traders, battery factories and various types of lithium extraction capacity, so that the original inventory base of more than 70000 tons soared to 169300 tons. The logic of low inventory and spot shortage in the
market was completely disintegrated, the speed of superimposed destocking slowed down dramatically, and pessimism spread, which eventually led to the rapid collapse of lithium prices.
