On May 7, a container-type energy storage system caught fire in a factory in Czajk Czajków, Poland, and 65 people were evacuated.
The container contains about 107,000 cells, and the total capacity of the whole system is 2MW. Firefighters arrived at the scene and measured that the temperature inside the container ranged from about 50 ° C at the bottom to nearly 300 ° C at the top.
High temperature and internal pressure cause bulging on one side of the box wall. The fire did not spread to the surrounding buildings, but a nearby 15 kilovolt high-voltage line was temporarily cut off by the power supply company.
Up to now, the fire has been extinguished, the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, the interior of the container was seriously burned, but fortunately no casualties were caused. It is reported that the equipment was delivered to the factory on May 6, and was originally planned to be installed the next day and operated in conjunction with the existing 200 kW photovoltaic facilities.
