The Digital New Energy DataBM. Com was informed that on September 4, Hubei Energy announced that the company had signed the Agreement on Deepening Cooperation with the People's Government of Enshi Prefecture, Hubei Province.
According to the agreement, during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, Hubei Energy plans to invest about 8 billion yuan in the upstream and downstream of clean energy and industrial chain in Enshi Prefecture to build a number of wind, solar, water storage and comprehensive energy projects.
Specifically, the project is mainly divided into three categories: Linxi River Hydropower Project, New Energy Project and Comprehensive Energy Project. Among them, the total investment of Linxi River Hydropower Project is planned to be 2.08 billion yuan, with a total installed capacity of 185,200 kilowatts. Hubei Energy completed the investment decision in June 2015, and is currently carrying out preliminary work. In terms of
new energy projects , Hubei Energy will strive to plan and construct 1 million kilowatts of new energy projects during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, focusing on accelerating the preliminary work of Hefeng Water, Wind, Solar and Storage Integration Project, Lichuan Jiannan Fengzhuba Wind Power Project and Lichuan Qiyueshan Wind Power Storage-Computing Project, so as to promote the construction of projects as soon as possible. In terms of
comprehensive energy projects , the Enshi Prefecture Government will support major infrastructure projects such as the relocation of Enshi Airport, the airport economic zone and the high-speed rail along the Yangtze River, focusing on the layout of distributed photovoltaic, wind pow er, energy storage and charging facilities. We will promote the construction of regional integrated energy and zero carbon park projects.
It is noteworthy that in September 2025, Hubei Energy also signed the Agreement on Deepening Cooperation with the People's Government of Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, to cooperate on the investment and construction of a number of wind, solar, fire, storage and comprehensive energy projects in Xiangyang City during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. In terms of the execution of the
agreement, up to now, the Nanzhang Zhangjiaping Pumped Storage Project has commenced construction in April 2025, and the project is progressing steadily; the Yicheng Power Plant Phase II Project has completed the feasibility study and external audit, and is striving for the thermal power construction target; the new energy million kilowatt base project has been connected to the grid with a total of 625,000 kilowatts. According to
the official website, Hubei Energy was formed in February 2005 by the merger of the former Hubei Qingjiang Hydropower Investment Company and Hubei Electric Power Development Company, and was listed as a whole in 2010.
At the end of 2015, the Three Gorges Group became the actual controller of the company through the non-public offering of shares. Since then, Hubei Energy has also changed from a state-owned enterprise in Hubei Province to a secondary subsidiary of the Three Gorges Group.
As of the first half of 2026, the controllable installed capacity of energy in Hubei was 19.9371 million kilowatts, including 5.7242 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power generation and 86,000 kilowatts of energy storage.
