On September 1, Huadian Haitou Romania Cotofini 154.7 MW Photovoltaic Power Plant Project, a subsidiary of China Huadian, officially started construction.
It is understood that the project is located about 190 km west of Bucharest, the capital of Romania, in the city of Cotofini, Dolj Province, Oltenia Region, Romania, and is the first greenfield photovoltaic power station invested by China Huadian in Europe.
The project is composed of four 45MW photovoltaic sub-projects , and the overall planning is a solar photovoltaic power station with an installed capacity of 154.7 MWac. The four sub-projects are actually a site demarcated by different plots. The four sub-projects have a total of 39 plots, covering an area of about 198.1 hectares.
The project intends to select advanced technologies such as double-sided high-efficiency battery components , box inverter integrated machine scheme and flat single-axis tracking bracket to support the construction of booster stations and transmission lines. To achieve efficient conversion and grid-connected transmission of clean energy . The project is expected to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2028.
It is noteworthy that on January 5, 2026, East China Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. of China Power Engineering Consulting Group, a subsidiary of China Nengjian, won the bid with a bid price of about 79.9865 million euros (about 655 million yuan ) and a bid price of 4.23 yuan/W .
